I recently added several videos on the YouTube channel showing how Ana creates some of her amazing tiny treats. The process that an artist must go through to make handmade gifts is usually slow, repetitive, and time-consuming.
Social media wants the sped-up version, a 30-second clip that squeezes days and hours, and sometimes months into a short clip with spunky music playing. But that's not how wonderful things are made. Beauty is found in slow, careful tasks over periods of time. Small details that take hours to get right. Trial and error. Beauty can be found in the process.
To tell the truth, I love watching those sped-up videos as well, but there's something to be said for appreciating the slowness of creating. When you buy a handmade item, you are recognizing the fact that someone gave their most precious commodity to create it - their time. I love to see how things are made and love that Ana has taken the time to record a bit of her process for me.
I hope you take a few minutes to enjoy watching a few of the videos that I've put together. They are short and show just a snippet of her creation process. What a gift to share this time together. With love, Ester.
